Frequently asked Questions

  • What to take? We will provide you with a detailed packing list itemizing clothing, preferred gear, optics and other miscellaneous items you will require for your hunt. These lists will be destination specific.

  • Do I need a visa or immunizations? All specific visa/immunization requirement information, country specific, will be provided to you at time of booking. Should you require any additional help we will gladly assist with the process.

  • Will I be met by someone at the airport? Yes, Askari Expeditions LLC will co-ordinate a meet & greet service to assist with firearm clearance/customs procedures upon arrival, pickup by your outfitter/company representative and overnight stay arrangements should they be required.

  • Is travel insurance or medical evacuation coverage required or recommended? Yes it is highly recommended. We suggest using either Global Rescue or Ripcord Adventure Insurance for coverage.

  • What paperwork is required to temporarily import my firearm? We work in conjunction with outfitters to provide you with necessary permitting paperwork prior to your arrival. US based clients will require a CBP Form 4457 for re-entry into the United States.

  • Can I use the outfitters guns should I not want to travel with my own? Yes, majority of our partnered outfitters will have suitable rifle/ammo combinations available for rent should you wish to do so.

  • Is taxidermy done locally or should I arrange it at home? This is entirely personal preference. However we do have highly recommended taxidermist options that we can provide you contacts and information for.

  • Should I take a cameraman? Yes we definitely advise taking a professional videographer to document that once in a lifetime adventure. The investment is well worth it.
